At present, in enterprises with metal welded pipe production lines, cold forming profile production lines, strip continuous punching production lines, and other continuous production lines using metal strip as raw material, manual arc welding or gas welding is still used for the docking of strip heads and tails. This  welding method has the following major disadvantages:

Unstable welding quality and poor production consistency
The skill level of welders varies, the various parameters during welding are all controlled manually. Human factors have a great impact on welding quality. Products show obvious deviations due to differences in operators, resulting in inconsistent weld appearance (such as undercut, incomplete penetration, weld spatter, uneven weld seam, etc.), low weld quality, and rework is required. Especially for strip with a thickness over 2-3mm, the weld ridge is as thick as 3-5mm when it is manually welded. And after welding, the welding ridge needs to be manually ground flat, which is time-consuming and laborious. If the weld ridge is not ground flat, it will cause a large impact load on the strip traction of the welded pipe unit, affect the service life of the steel roller, and easily break the strip, or even damage the magnet rod, causing production stoppages.

High labor intensity and harsh environment
Welders need to maintain fixed postures such as bending down and holding heavy objects for long periods, which can easily cause occupational diseases such as lumbar and shoulder strain. The strong light, high temperature, and smoke (such as metal oxides, toxic gases) produced during welding directly harm the health of the operators. Moreover, manual welding operation environments usually lack the closed protection of automated equipment, further exacerbating occupational health risks.

High labor costs and high auxiliary material consumption
The high skill requirements for welders, long training cycles, and high wages and benefits increase the labor cost of enterprises. After manual welding, welders often need to perform large amount of follow-up processing work such as grinding to eliminate defects such as excessive weld ridges, weld spatter, etc., which increases the process and auxiliary hours and reduces production efficiency. At the same time, manual welding increases the consumption of a large number of welding materials and sanding discs and other auxiliary materials. All of these the production cost of the enterprise and weaken the market competitiveness of the product.

Outstanding safety hazards
During manual welding operations, welders directly come into contact with high -voltage electricity, high-temperature welding arcs, and mechanical shearing equipment. If the operation is improper or the protective measures are not in place, it is easy to cause electric, scalding accidents, or mechanical injuries. The welding fumes produced during the welding process have certain toxicity, and welders working in this environment for a long time are harmful to their health. Our company currently has three major series of shearing and welding machines: DJJ, BDJ, and ZDJ series. From the body structure, it can be divided into two types: open and closed (gantry type). DJJ series shearing and welding
The shearing and welding positions of DJJ are arranged in an upright position. There are three shearing and welding forms: pneumatic, hydraulic, and hybrid (pneumatic pressing + hydraulic shearing) according to the thickness and width of the steel strip. The main models include DJJ-160, DJJ-260, DJJ-360 DJJ-400, and DJJ-500, etc. Users can select the appropriate shearing and welding machine according to the width, thickness, and material of the steel strip used in their products.

BDJ series shearing and welding
The shearing and welding positions of BDJ series machine are arranged on the same plane horizontally. And there is no need to manually shear and lift the steel strip to the upper welding position, which realizes a real-time transition from shearing to welding, greatly shortening the docking time.

ZDJ welding machine
The ZDJ welding machine has a closed structure mainly for the situation where the wide and thick steel strip is not handy or heavy or inconvenient for manual operation.
The welding machine is equipped with a strip feeding and discharging traction device, horizontal and vertical rolls, and an automatic strip centering device, with a high degree of automation.

Metal strip
The shear welding machine developed by our company adopts a three-blade shearing + TIG argon arc welding process. The welding procedure is controlled by PLC and frequency converters/servo motors, enabling fully automated operation throughout the welding cycle.
